Repeat Prescriptions

Electronic Repeat Dispensing Prescriptions

Our practice is collaborating with NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) which is providing NHS numbers for those patients that may be suitable for electronic repeat dispensing prescriptions.

The information is obtained from NHS prescriptions submitted to the NHSBSA. A member of our clinical team will contact these patients soon to explain the benefits of this service.

Please allow 24- 48 hours for processing. Indicate whether you would like the prescription to be kept at the surgery or to go to the chemist.

If you wish to have your prescription posted to you please provide a self -addressed envelope. It is our practices policy that no telephone requests will be accepted unless you are a housebound patient.

Electronic Prescription Service

We offer an Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or "nominate" a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Please nominate your chosen pharmacy by registering at the pharmacy or filling the form at our reception. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you nominated. this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.

You can also order your prescriptions in person, by post enclosing an s.a.e or through your chosen pharmacy. Prescription requests are not taken over the phone. Please note we require a minimum of two working days to process your request. Remember to request your prescription well in advance during bank holidays.
